The objectives of this Memorandum of Understanding with the University of São Tomé and Príncipe are:
- Promote the development of higher education, scientific research and technological innovation in their respective areas of activity;
- Facilitate the mobility of teaching and research staff, non-teaching staff and students between institutions through international programmes;
- Promote, carry out and disseminate studies, projects, research and other related activities;
- Provide institutions with opportunities to create and expand research and teaching experiences, improve professional development and contribute to academic missions;
- Strengthen educational and scientific ties, encourage cultural exchange and promote collaboration in areas of mutual interest;
- Organise and hold seminars, meetings, conferences and other events;
- Create an Intensive LAB in the field of Artificial Intelligence;
- Support the creation of a research centre at USTP;
- Create an inclusive room for the population of São Tomé and Príncipe;
- Promote training in the field of digital literacy and social inclusion.

The objectives of this Memorandum of Understanding, within the scope of the Forward AI Skills: Bridge 2 Digital Transformation Project, of which ISTEC Lisboa is a part, are:

- The implementation of pilot projects, assessing the real impact of generative AI on learning and digital equity;
- The organisation of networking and dissemination events and the production of evidence-based policy recommendations, contributing to the formulation of innovative education policies at European level.
