The Student Ombudsman is appointed by the Director of ISTEC and falls upon a personality of proven competence, impartiality and experience in the field of higher education. The Student Ombudsman is responsible for critically and independently analysing the functioning of the Institute insofar as it influences the conditions of study, learning and progression of students in their academic life, and for making general and specific recommendations that he/she deems necessary.

The Student Ombudsman is appointed for three-year, renewable terms.
